Slip test - getting the test done

Slip and fall cases: using the pendulum test

What is the pendulum test?

The pendulum test is for measuring slip resistance. The test is described in AS/NZS 4663 and the instrument in BS EN 13036-4:2011. The measurement works on the principles of physics. A pendulum with a rubber foot is swung across the surface with a defined contact length and the loss of energy read on a scale determines the level of friction.
